Dowry creek

 Kerm here
Blowing stink.  Jeez, am I glad we're not headed into the wind.  Caught a blow off our rear quarter on Pamlico Sound and while there was some rock and roll we got a half knot boost and both Chris and I are not prone to sea sickness so wahoo as long as the china stayed intact we're ok.  We were in a conga line of about 8 trawlers,  all of which were faster but cut some corners and stayed with them all day.
Last night we were in Oriental.  Didn't see even one Asian but spent some time with a old school trawler guy and got some pointers on the Lehman diesel.  O boy, did I have have a great docking there.  A lady said I can't believe what he's doing, what a master.  Cleared a whole pot load of boats by inches.  Yikes.  Luckily she was sleeping this morning when I completely blew the take off.  Boat hooks, push offs and more suggestions from the gallery that one person can absorb.  O' well, gives them something to talk about at the bar tonight.
Tomorrow looks like crappy weather so we're on hold until the morning forecast.  We will have to pound to the next marina or sit.  If we don't get out of here early we're out of luck.  Elizabeth City is the next stop.  I'm already just a bit apprehensive about the Chesapeake, the C and D, the Delaware and around NJ on the outside but at least Linda O' will be here.
Boat is running well but I will have to do a maintenance stop at some point and change filters, oil, etc.  The guy last night said I should adjust the valves and torque the head but it just might not happen until we get to fresh.  Anybody know a diesel mechanic that wants a free ride...
Bye, gotta go to a marina party,  well,  jeez, all these people are old...
