Christie here.

I haven't blogged for a while.  It seems I'm just focusing on experiencing every day.  Selfish, maybe but Kerm has taken up the slack and his posts are awesome, I think.  They let you in on a whole different perspective on the cruising life.

Anyway, I have some pictures to share since we are in an internet friendly spot.

BIMINI

Walking the beach

That is a shark cage...no none of us went in

At The Dolphin House.  Local artist and historian, Ashley Simpson, has created a fascinating house with all kinds of elements he finds on the beach.  On our last visit here,  I gave him a small tile from Spain that my friend gave to me years ago asking if he could incorporate it into his house.  He did so. And now all can see it.

Ashley and me.  He recognized me when I walked up to him and told me I was The Southern Belle.

Another room at the Dolphin House

Lots of boat cards and coins from people all over the world

One of the views from The Dolphin House
On the crossing from Bimini to Nassau

 NORMAN'S CAY
We weathered several days of windy conditions at Norman's and suffered a little anchor angst ,but the Manson held

Shroud Cay

WARDRICK WELLS

Wardrick Wells is part of the Exuma Land and Sea Park which is a conservation reserve so no fishing, lobstering, conching or shelling of any kind is allowed.  The slogan here is "Take only pictures, leave only bubbles".  There is beautiful snorkeling and great views everywhere.
The Belle anchored in a thin strip of deep water in front of the beach

You can just see the top of our boat, fourth boat from the right

Climbing the trail to Boo Boo Hill

People leave their boat names on the top of the hill, we looked for the one we placed 2 years ago but could not find it

Hard to see our stick offering...it's  held up by the piece of driftwood and has blue writing

There's the Belle, Taken from the Park HQ Building

Ship coming the Cut from Exuma Sound

Cleaning the Belle's waterline

 STANIEL CAY

Linda's children and our sister, Margie all came to visit us and enjoy the weather and beauty of the Bahamas.  They flew in to Staniel Cay and rented two great cabins with a dock big enough for the Belle to snuggle into as well.
Off to snorkel at Thunderball Grotto

Margie piloting us down to BlackPoint

Staniel Cay Yacht Club dead ahead...the Serenity Cottages are to the left with round roof lines

That's all for now.

Having a great time and enjoying life aboard.
Love to all

  1. Chris, in that last photo of you approaching Staniel Cay, if your camera was pointed one degree to the right, you would have seen 4 of us waving to the Belle as she came back to port!
